Student Announcements – February 17, 2017

Ultimate Frisbee Club meets today after school in Room 105. We will then head outside to play. Practice will end by 3:55. See Mr. Rummelhart with any questions.

Those wanting to be on light board, spot light, and sound crews need to come to rehearsal on Tuesday, February 21st after school in the cafeteria for the first run of the show.

 

Calling all readers!  If you read Rebecca Caudill books this year, be sure to submit your book reviews on the Learning Commons website by next Friday, February 24.  Voting will start next week for the best book and must be completed by February 27.  See Mrs. Trudeau in the LC if you have any questions.

Yearbook meets today after school in Room 103. We are designing pages…bring your creativity!

 

Come to the stage today if you’d like to help paint the set for the musical.  We’ll be working until 4.

 

Ultimate Frisbee Club is back tomorrow, Friday, February 17th! If you’re interested in playing ultimate frisbee, meet in Room 105 after school tomorrow. Weather permitting, we will then head outside to play. Please bring warm clothing and shoes to run around in. Practice will end by 3:55. All are welcome to attend, including people who have never played before. See Mr. Rummelhart with questions.

Last night, Shepard band students presented a chamber music recital on stage. Every band member performed in a duet, trio or quartet to highlight their individual strengths. Congratulations on your outstanding work and bravery to stand and present in front of an audience of 200 people. You presented the best Valentine ever!

 

Yearbook meets tomorrow after school in Room 103. Bring your creativity…we are having fun designing the yearbook pages.

 

Thursday is a spirit day, time to get out of the winter blues and get your luau/beach wear! Wear a floatie, a lei or just some bright colors to get us in the warm weather spirit!

 

Student council, we will have a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:25.

 

There will be a Peer Mediation meeting this Thursday in the Art Room at 7:30.  Please see Mrs. Markarian if you have any questions.

Student Announcements – February 14, 2017

On Saturday, February 11th, twenty-eight Shepard students participated in the Illinois Grade School Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Caruso Middle School!  Thank you to our Spartan Musicians for going above and beyond the responsibilities of the band, orchestra, and choral programs and making Shepard proud!

Over the weekend a few of our wrestlers took part in the 15 team Deerpath Tournament.  Congratulations to all of our wrestlers!  Great job, everyone!

Congratulations to Charisma! With only a week between competitions, students worked hard to improve all components of their show, and WOW – their efforts really paid off! Charisma won Grand Champion and Best Men’s Section at the Fort Atkinson Show Choir Competition! Trophies will be displayed this week in the office – way to go, Charisma, keep up the great teamwork!

Last night the 7th & 8th grade boys volleyball teams competed in their first game against Attea. It was a tough match and the boys brought Attea to 3 games, however they weren’t able to pull a win out at the end.  It was a fantastic first game and the teams represented Shepard well. The boys came together and have a great season ahead of them. Be on the lookout for our home games to come support your teams.  We play at Caruso next Tuesday!

Philanthropy Club will meet next Tuesday after school in Room 104 to discuss a special project with Mr. Komie. Mark your calendar!

 

Those wanting to help build the set for the musical, come to the stage on Monday after school.

 

Who sings in three or four part harmony, performs some of the toughest choreography around, and sings a 20-minute show with a live band in suits, ties, and dresses? Charisma, that’s who! Please wish Charisma students good luck today – we are excited to travel to our second competition in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Students have been working hard to improve their show; we wish them the very best as they compete these evening!

 

Good luck to all of our musicians performing at the IGSMA Solo & Ensemble contest tomorrow!

The Wrestling team took on a very talented Twin Groves Middle school last night and although they did not win the overall meet, many wrestlers came out victorious.  Great job to all of our wrestlers!

Young Authors–you have a writing deadline! It’s today!! Turn in your story to Room 103 by the end of the day.
